Compelling story, beautiful illustration, skilled writing, puzzling ending... well worth a read or four: Murder Mysteries
Murder Mysteries is a great one - if you don't already know, you can't really go wrong with any of Gaiman's stuff. Comics, short stories, novels -- he pretty much nails them all.
Russel isn't to shabby on the illustration tip either.
