In regards to bad design is good, peterme shot me a note asking I look at the first 99% bad post that restarted the flash holy war, and he was right. It's a well thought out bit of reasoning. I also want to point to Don Norman great post on "Nielsen Norman Group's Compelling Reasons to Use Flash"
