gray is the new black

I read the news today, oh boy! I've got bad mefi withdrawal, so I went trolling and as a result, the news&commentary section is back, full of news that ranges from relevant to not-quite-so-very. Eh!

To combat withdrawal, I decided to try out plastic, which turned out to be AGS (another gray site). Dang, pretty soon the entire web will be grayscale.

my collection of gray sites includes (in order of gray-ness)

http://www.peterme.com (recently gone gray)

http://a.wholelottanothing.org/

http://www.carboniq.com(of course)

http://www.biggerhand.com (though lightened up with photos)

http://www.waferbaby.com

http://www.motivo.com

http://www.heyotwell.com/heyblog/

http://www.davezilla.com/and http://www.designiskinky.net/ are semigrays

http://www.dithered.com/index.html

http://www.blackbeltjones.com/index.html is nearly white

add another, or explain to me why gray is the epitome of elegance.

I think http://liga1.com proves you can be grey and still very un-elegant. (I can say that - it's mine)

i had a dark gray weblog with light gray text that most of the readers of the site hated. i was repulsed by the result of modifications made as a result of suggestions i got so i redesigned it. it now is white to appeal to IAs but with light gray grid lines to help keep the eye directed. there's something subtle and lovely about muted grays.

Yes, my site is grey. My Mac ran out of RGB. It's been dripping out the side near the USB port. I've been procrastinating about fixing the leak...

Oh well. I'll just have to go redesign it for a higher grey quotient.

I have to say, Mena's dollarshort is a great looking somewhat grey weblog.

i like the new v-2 redesign, adam. the relevance search is cute too. a few other choice grays: praystation and sound of design (recently redesigned).

Noticed the grey sites but didn't realize it was a cool trend. Here are two more: www.nextleft.com/ (grey text is set off with orange) and www.gardenbotanika.com/ (grey text is set off with teal text and color photos)
